The Story of how Horseballs™ came to be
A Century of History
Long Beach Island, or LBI, has been at the heart of our family for over a century.
Extended family having lived on the island along with countless summer vacations.
How it Started
Once over 45 years ago my (Pete - Founder) parents took us to a Harlem Globetrotters game and
we returned with a small souvenir rubber basketball, that eventually ended up in
our beach toys.
A Simple Beginning
One hot day on the beach, with us kids being restless and underfoot, my father dug
two holes and pitted us against each other to see who could make the most shots,
and HorseBalls™ was born.
Present Day
Over the years, we have refined the game with new rules and ways to compete.
We are excited to be able to share
our beloved pastime sport with other beach-loving families and continuing a legacy that celebrates
family, fun, and the spirit of LBI.
